Bandit has become an aspirational father figure for me, he lives in my imagine with the dad from "Calvin and Hobbes", and for sure there were ZERO dry eyes in my house when we watched "Sleepy Time" - that 10 minute short is so deeply embedded in my mind that I can't even listen to Holst's "Jupiter" anymore without welling up
My husband has joined a Bluey themed dads group on Facebook and I’ve been really impressed with how there’s a lot of opening up and sharing among the dads. It seems like it sort of started as a joke of how everyone feels like a bad dad compared to Bandit but it’s gotten pretty deep. It’s nice to see because while mom groups are popular and can be found virtually anywhere, there don’t seem to be the same forums for men. It’s been really hard to watch my husband not have similar support to me which I have really relied on. But when he found this group I was a little more hopeful. Bandit not only inspirational but building community 🤣❤️
I have a friend who has a group chat with all the neighborhood dads. For the first couple of weeks, all they talked about was how good Bluey, and this episode specifically, is.
I'm not a parent, but I recently visited my friend in Denmark who has two young kids. I watched Bluey with them, and even though it was in Danish and so I couldn't understand everything, I was MESMERIZED! It was so good! One of the ones we watched was the rain/dam building one, so with the lack of dialogue that one was easy to follow. It almost makes me want to watch them myself at home.
When my kids were small, I psychoanalyzed Barney in much the same way. I wondered who these kids were who hung around the school without adults and a big purple dinosaur, etc. Bluey sounds like a much better show for doing this!
Our 3 year old loves Bluey! She has Bluey, her family and their house. She has that family go on all sorts of adventures. And a lot of them are straight from her watching the show (and reading the books). And I know Chili and Bandit have made my wife and I better parents! Except when Bandit throws Chili under the bus in the beginning of “The Pool”. I was like bro 🤦🏻♀️

Whoa, I love this. Such a cool way for dads to connect.

❤️Next up is the book series Henry and Mudge by Cynthia Rylant. Same vibes.
Please tell me the name of the software on which you animate cartoon.
Blues is amazing. It’s everything you say. My kid was Bluey for Halloween! We loosely wear Bandit and Chili, via tshirts and masks from Etsy.
*Bluey 🤦🏽♀️
